Homemade Beefburger

500g minced beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 red onion, finely chopped
1 egg
100g breadcrumbs
2 teaspoons chilli paste
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
2 tablespoons plain flour

1. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the onion for about 5 minutes until soft. Leave to cool slightly.
2. Mix the onion with the minced beef, egg, breadcrumbs, chilli paste, garlic and ketchup and mix well.
3. Divide the mixture into 6, roll into balls and then flatten into a nice fat burger.
4. Put the flour on a plate, dab each burger in the flour on both sides, then transfer to a plate, cover with cling film and put them in the fridge for a couple of hours.
5. Fry the burgers in a little oil for 5 minutes on each side or until cooked through.

Serve the burgers in a bread roll, with some tomato, onion, cheese, bacon and the relish of your choice with salad and potato wedges.
